  • The basics of local law
  • The importance of risk assessments and method statements and the development process
  • Site requirements for the welfare of construction workers on site
  • Hazards and controls associated with construction sites and activities, including working at height and confined spaces
  • Site environmental management, including management of waste and ecology

Learners are required to take one of two standard assessments under examination conditions

Certification

IOSH Safety Health & Environment for Construction Site Workers certificate.

Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date.

 Delegates will be able to demonstrate understanding of the course syllabus by taking an end-of-course exam. On successful completion of the exam, delegates will receive an IOSH certificate.

CRITERIA

To be eligible to deliver the course, trainers must:

  • Have two years’ construction experience OR a level 3 sector specific qualification
  • Be a Technical member of IOSH
  • Have up-to-date CPD
  • Have adult training qualification at level 3 on regulated qualifications framework OR have successfully completed IOSH Train the Trainer course
  • Have two years’ substantial face-to-face training experience.
